WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Defense Department dealt a blow to Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT) on Tuesday when the Pentagon announced it was scrapping the Trump-era award of a $10 billion JEDI cloud-computing project. Net-zero carbon impact on UK debt could be less than pandemic hit-OBR By Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) - The impact on Britain's public debt mountain caused by action to meet the country's net carbon zero target by 2050 could be less severe than that of the coronavirus pandemic, as long as the government moves quickly, the country's fiscal watchdog said. The Office for Budget Responsibility said its early-action scenario added 21% of gross domestic product to public sector net debt in 2050-51, or 469 billion pounds ($650 billion) in today's terms. "That is somewhat smaller than the addition to net debt as a result of the pandemic," the OBR said in...

Ocado boss predicts UK ultra-fast grocery delivery will stay small By Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) - Rapid delivery grocery firms will only ever account for a small chunk of Britain's overall food market as the bulk of consumers will always prefer the lower prices and larger ranges offered by bigger retailers, Ocado (LON:OCDO) boss Tim Steiner said. The country's grocery sector faces a new threat from companies like Weezy, Getir, Dija, and Gorillas who offer an ultra-fast service, supplying groceries via apps in as little as 15 minutes. But British online grocer and technology group Ocado said the new entrants posed much more of a danger to neighbourhood...
